Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors:

I have decided to run for State Representative of the Tenth Bristol District this November.

I am a strong believer in economic development and streamlining our government. Our hard-earned tax dollars should be used much more efficiently to allow for increases in important services such as education, health care and prescription drugs without unnecessary tax increases. The current Massachusetts legislative bureaucracy ignores the current reality that spending is out of control while simultaneously burdening our district and region with higher taxes and unfunded mandates. This has to be addressed.

I am a strong supporter of:

• Cutting state spending
• Reducing state taxes
• Consolidating the business permitting process
• Improving our high schools and access to them
• Insurance reform
• Commuter rail extension to Boston and Providence

The “business as usual” Beacon Hill mind set must change. I believe we can make a difference by bringing the core values of Southeastern Massachusetts to Beacon Hill.

What you and I have always known - hard work, self reliance and neighborly cooperation - are what is needed in Boston. This is a team effort. I will need the support of all of you in reaching this goal. I appreciate your support and welcome the opportunity to discuss the issues that are most important to you.
